Sweet Yesterday

Assalamualaikum and Hello :)

Found this photo inside my old itinerary.
My Graduation Day.
Finally accomplished my medical degree after yearsss of struggling.

One of my happiest day ever.

Public Awareness : English is Vital

Assalamualaikum and Hello :)

I giggled when I read some comments on motorbike review that danna has posted on Facebook.
The review was written in full English, simple enough that I bet everyone could understand; but somehow this one fella *I believe, jokingly* wrote:
And a guy then replied with this picture:

I burst to laugh when I saw this. Not sure it was because of the caption "Itulah pentingnya English education" or because of that much-publicized Usop Wilcha hand gesture.
Whatever it is, that was funny.
Please don't get me wrong; this doesn't reflect that I am making fun of those who does not really fluent in English ya.
Since English has immense distribution compared to other spoken languages like in research, education, trade, marketing, hobbies and entertainment; sometimes message from point A to point B is better delivered in English.

Let me give an example.
Few months ago I was given with a task to render one whole booklet regarding a drink/ product that can reduce or ease acne problem.
The tagline was 'Drink Your Acne Away'.
And I was supposed to translate them into Malay.
I spend days; to think what is 'Drink Your Acne Away' in Bahasa Melayu. Is it 'Minum Jerawat Anda Pergi' which is of course; translated directly and has the same connotation with the original phrase.
Or should I twist them here and there making the sentence turns to 'Hapuskan Jerawat dengan Minuman' which clearly distant from the original sentence.
Still, they doesn't sounds right.
Sometimes English word delivers the meaning better mainly because they are less poietic compared to our Bahasa Melayu.
But that doesn't mean we should forget our mother tongue (by saying mother tongue, I refer to any language or dialects that you use- Melayu, Cantonese, Hokkien, Tamil, Jawa, loghat Kelantan Terengganu Nismilan Kedah etc).
So, to cherish our Bahasa Melayu, let me end this post with these super cute pantun:
Duduk bersimpuh di tepi jendela,
Sambil menganyam tikar mengkuang,
Marilah kita sama membela,
Bahasa ibunda jangan dibuang.
Tikar mengkuang tempahan orang,
Untuk jamuan majlis kenduri,
Tidak pun salah berbahasa orang,
Untuk senang dikemudian hari.

Gitteww girls.
Ps : Can't belive I made those pantuns. Yes, Hizami.

Interrogatory Answered

Assalamualaikum and Hello :)

I finally found you!!

You gorgeous Google Maps Chevrolet!

Stumbled upon this machine few times when I was driving at multiple places. And she never failed to mesmerized me.
Haha. Mesmerized.

I wonder how the thing on top of the car works; that blue ball with cameras and that sensor-like thingy; connected to a screen inside the car.
So yesterday I got the chance to get real close to this machine and calculate how many cameras she have.
Eight cameras inside that 'blue ball' that captures 360 degree images.
Thank you Google Maps for literally taking me jalan-jalan to many places when I was bored in the office.
Anddd I got the chance to see the other Google Maps machine; like the boat and bike.

I'm a contented woman.

Sunday Morning

Assalamualaikum and hello :)

The moment I'm typing this, the danna is still asleep. I promised him last night to prepare nasi lemak as our breakfast. So just now I woke up a bit earlier than usual to siang ikan bilis and rebus some lada kering to make chili paste.

I am acting more like my mom these days. Cooking for the husband everyday. Doing laundry; basuh baju sidai baju lipat baju. And my new daily routine includes going to Tesco or Presto or pasar malam after office hour to buy some veges or chicken and cook dinner for the danna, dinner at home and have a cup of tea together before bedtime.

*yes I know caffein can cause palpitation but, kasi can la*

If you wonder where is the nasi lemak, they are in my rice cooker.

I love cooking.

Thank you danna for this beautiful kitchen. Hope you like my cookings, eventho I tak terer pun masak masak ni.

Me love you.

Ok now is HanChee's bubble bath time!

Assalamualaikum and Hello :)
I was 10 years old and was tying up my shoe lace for school when one skinny little kitten came and meowing at me; asking for love.

I guess the kitten was having a rough start to life.
He was still a baby and might has lost his mom.
Being hungry and weak, I wonder how the kitten managed to walked up the stairs up to level 2, which where I lived.
So I took off my shoes back and ran into the kitchen, looking for some milk and last night's dinner leftovers, and gave them to the cat.
Then I picked him up, hold him and took him downstairs with the hope he would go back to his home or find his family; because I knew my mom will not let any of us to have a cat in the family; due to space restriction.
And I still remember how his little claws dug into the front of my baju kurung and didn't want to leave me.
I left the kitten somewhere quite far and go back home again. But he followed me.
I picked him up and put at the same place again and the same thing occured.
Poor little kitten kept on coming to our house until my mom noticed the cat and asked me to put him downstairs, again. So that was what I did that morning.
Going up and down the staircase, basically. Then I off to school.
In the afternoon, after school, I looked around the neighborhood and seek for the little kitten. But can't find it. I was a little bit sad tho.
I thought maybe I can keep the cat secretly, without telling anyone.
But as I entered the house, I saw the little cat in the house, all spotless and fine. Mom says the cat refuse to leave, so we just keep him in this family and everyone should be responsible for cleaning the poops and whatsoever;
and that was the sweetest childhood memory that I could hold dear.

Great Japanese BBQ at Gyu-Kaku

Assalamualaikum and Hello :)

Frankly speaking I'm not a fan of BBQ mainly because I hate to walk around smells like medium well beef afterwards.

But little did I know Gyu-Kaku, a Japanese BBQ style restaurant offers the almost smoke-free BBQ, thanks to their down-draft system; smoke from the grill is sucked down into the underground  pipe.

Which means, I could enjoy my meal without being suffocated inside the place *dramatic much* but seriously, smoke smell that left on my hair after that was tolerable. 😂

So, previous week the danna took me to Gyu-Kaku restaurant at Publika, and the restaurant is located next to Hairplay! Mind you, my excite-meter went cray cray when I saw the salon. Will go there, for sure, in future, InsyaAllah.

Ok here comes the food.

Meat. Beef. Chicken. Lamb. Salmon. Etc.
Surprisingly, I can eat those salad. When I asked danna for another bowl of salad, he said he finished them all -.-"

Tofu soup.

Smores. Love to melt those mashmellows but can't bite the biscuits. Lol.

Too bad I can't eat this vanilla with caramel ice cream.
My teeth was still very sensitive due to scaling procedure that I did the day before.

The danna purposely pick this milk pudding for me, because he love me ❤️

Ultimately, the food was good. The environment was good. Money well spent. Looking for another visit to Gyu-Kaku again.

Bubbye, I'm boarding for my flight nao!
