Things That I See Everyday

Assalamualaikum and Hello :)

Currently I am away from home for job purpose.

As much as I love talking to senior citizens, I can't deny that sometimes I feel a bit disappointed when I met a patient who could not speak Bahasa at all. Or English.

Simple questions from me like "Aunty sakit kat mana?" "Ada makan ubat?" "Tadi makan pukul berapa?" Or even "umur berapa?" some of these people can't understand at all.

Buat muka terpinga pinga cari orang sebangsa dia nak mintak tolong translate apa yang I cakap.

I am frustrated with this kind of people. Bukannya muda lagi; semua tua tua. Seriously aunty uncle, where do you live all this while? Takkan tak tau cakap bahasa rasmi even sikit pun? Or maybe takkan langsung tak hidup bercampur dengan bangsa lain?

Even simple English; super duper layman  questions like "your age?" pun menggelabah mintak orang translatekan. Duh.

I can speak in their dialects and I do understand what they are talking about. But they have to learn Bahasa too (!).

Sibuk nak hak sama rata padahal cakap pun tak reti.

Cucuk guna jarum besar baru tahu.

Tak tak.

Ada juga yang fasih bahasa melayu. I met one aunty months ago who said "ehh pranjat aku nengok ade orang tetibe kat sebelah". She's extremely cute and lovable. I hope to see you again aunty.

The Pakcik Story

Assalamualaikum and Hello :)
I met one pakcik during my outstation few months ago.
From his physical appearance, he looks like somewhere around 60 years old.
But still, he dress up very nicely and neat, with brown color checkered shirt and dark color long pants; with a pair of shiny wing tip.
He asked me about his medication that he was taking during that time.
He said he was dubious about the daily intake. I asked him what medication it was but he forgot the name.
So then he went back home and promised to come back with his medication.
As he walked out of the place, I saw that he was alone, driving an old faithful Kelisa.
On my second thought, maybe this pakcik will not coming back; because everyone was.
But to my surprise, the pakcik came back again after that.
As he promised, he brought along his medication.
So I explained everything to him, on what should he take and what not, and he was just nodding his head – trying to remember I guess.
Then he asked me if there is something he can take to relieve his muscle cramps.
Pakcik: Ada apa-apa tak nak bagi kurangkan cramp kaki pakcik ni? Malam-malam selalu dapat kejang kat betis.
Me : Kalau pakcik selalu cramp, pakcik boleh makan magnesium sebelum tidur, so nanti muscle pakcik jadi more relax lah.
Pakcik: Oh yeke. Malam-malam makcik selalu on kipas angin masa tidur. Dia tak tu tak boleh panas, pakcik pulak tak boleh sejuk; tu yang jadi cramp tu. Tapi nak buat macam mana, tahan jelah takut. Kalau tutup kipas nanti dia tak boleh tidur pulak.
Me: I giggled. Tidur pakai selimut lah pakcik. Tak payah gaduh-gaduh lah. Hehe.. Kenapa pakcik tak bawak wife datang check sekali?
Me: I was speechless. I dare not say anything.
I wonder how this pakcik managed to survive this blind alley with ease.
Even at this point, he still looks calm and contented.
And looking at the shirt that he wore, maybe that was one of the shirts that his wife prepared for him before she goes.
As the pakcik walked out of the room, he left me with mixed-up feelings.
He might be so in love with his wife.
Only a great wife could turns a man into a great husband.

The Birthday Girl

Assalamualaikum and Hello :)

How time flies! I can't believe this year marks an amazing eight years of MiuMiuSays.
What a journey!
I started blogging since my very first semester of my medical degree; and the first MiuMiuSays was with xanga.com
I blogged mainly about my daily activities, how I cope with student life, being far from family, what I did with my friends, about my previous relationship, places that I went and few other things I can't recall.

But then I figured out xanga doesn't offer some kind of freedom for me to personalize my site, and at the moment blogger.com was booming; so I decided to move to blogger.
Not bidding 100% goodbye to xanga, I still updating my xanga occasionally during that particular moment.

Then I learned about this Nuffnang thingy from the other bloggers.
I used to be very active in their contests and have won few - like free tickets to watch movie premier, free entrance to fashion shows (where I first met Amber Chia), and some free products like Nivea just to name a few.

Blogging back then was exciting. Maybe because I have plenty of time to do some blogwalking and all that stuffs but as I was getting closer to my final year, I started to go easy with MiuMiuSays.
People who have followed MiuMiuSays might knew that I have closed this site for few months for some personal reason.
Yup, I permanently close it down.
And some of my blogger friends was really kind enough to asked regarding that matter through FB; but I never gave any definite answer for my action.
Somehow I realized that MiuMiuSays is something that I really, really love.
Even there were so many memories either good or bad, I just can't leave MiuMiuSays just like that.
Then I finally decided to register a new blogger account; with miumiusays as the url, again.
Basically, I can say this is the 'new' MiuMiuSays. And as you can see at the bottom of the page, I purposely put there - Hanis is creating memories; because I do creating new memories :)
And ultimately, I am hoping for more good things to come, more varieties for this site, more ideas or opinions to share with the readers *if any* no matter who they are.

Happy 8th Birthday, MiuMiuSays.

Grade C

Assalamualaikum and hello :)

My husband never fails to make me laugh. Yesterday we both went to Giant hypermarket to buy some groceries. Being someone who is good in grocery-shopping; I never thought we would jump into this conversation:

Me: You, nak beli telur lah. Telur dah habis kat rumah.

Husband: Ok (walk straight away to egg shelves).

I was picking up one small tray of eggs when he said-

Husband: Yang tu macam lagi murah je you.

Me: Which one? Yang ni ke? (Pointing to another brand)

Husband: Haah. Ambil jelah. Telur je kan? What do you expect from eggs?

Me: hmm ok lah.

Husband: Ok. (Put those eggs into our trolley)

But then he said again-

Husband: Ehh yang you ambil tu grade C or B? Yang grade B macam lagi murah.

Me: Grade B, why?

Husband: Hoo, bukan C lagi besar ke?

Me: (started to laugh) You are so confuse! Haha.. C besar tu size bra lah you.

Husband: oh pape jelah.

He's cute.
I love you.

What I Did Last Sunday(s)

Assalamualaikum and Hello :)
I went to Diabetes Complications Conference and Grand Rounds organized by the National Diabetes Institute and the ministry of Health couple of weeks ago, held at Hotel Istana.
It was a good event, where I have the opportunities to meet many doctors, specialists and professors; sharing information with them and also – elevate my communication skills.
The doctors and specialists are all very friendly and they really pay close attention to what I said.
When I talked about the function of antioxidant in managing high blood glucose level, they not only just listened, but they do share what they know and the conversation turns into a discussion and it really challenged me; intellectually.
Apart from that, so many interesting topics has been discussed during the conference such as managing diabetes in people with acute myocardial infarction, liver disease in diabetes and its implications, prevention of renal disease in diabetes, pregnancy complications, diabetic neuropathy and the list goes onnnnn~
I wish I could join this conference again next year, as a delegate pulak.

Bye bye.

Assalamualaikum and Hello :)

Alhamdulillah. So I am now a year older, Happy Birthday Hanis *pat own shoulder*.

The birthday celebration starts at Pejabat Pos Jalan Sultan where me and the danna spend hoursss there; waiting for my turn to renew my driving license. For the love of God, I don't want this to happen again next year *kalau ada umur lah* so the danna gave me some cash and now my license is valid for 3 years. Tak payah fikir pasal lesen for the next three years.

Then he took me to Gyu Kaku *again* for lunch/ dinner. I always love this place. And to be honest, I was hoping I could see a glimpse of Marion there but unfortunately, negative. Lol.

Anyway, arigatou gozaimasu danna san for the food! おいしい !

This time I have the chance to enjoy my ice cream. Anddd of course, my milk pudding  that I love the most.

Thank you Hizami for the treat!

Later we went to Hilton PJ for a drink.

But ultimately, the best part of my birthday is to know my husband secretly went to Sephora and bought something that I have been contemplating about for quite some time. How sweet.
It's the effort that counts.

Thank you once again abang for all those efforts, patience, love, time and money that you spent on me.

And for the birthday song too.

Me love you.
