Anis and I

Assalamualaikum and Hello :)

Few weeks ago my 7 years old Anis asked me:

+ Aunty Hanis, bila aunty Hanis nak ada baby?

- Huh? Tak tau lagi lah, cuba tanya dekat uncle.

+ Nanti kalau aunty ade baby, siapa nak jaga baby aunty Hanis?

- Anis la jaga baby, sebab Anis pandai jaga Luqman (his baby brother).

+ Anis tak pandai jaga baby, nanti dia nangis nangis sampai Anis tak tau nak buat apa.

- Kalau baby nangis, Anis nyanyila untuk baby. Nanti baby happy.

+ *muka confuse* nak nyanyi lagu ape aunty?

- Lagu yang Anis belajar dekat sekolah lah. Anis tau lagu ape?

+ Ermm.. *nyanyi* Negaraku.. Tanah tumpahnya darahku.. Rakyat hidup bersatu dan maju

Sakit perut tahan gelak.

I never thought she would sing national anthem to babies. How cute :)

Godaan

Assalamualaikum and Hello :)

Last Wednesday was the Aidiladha's eve.   Before kita balik kampung husband, I have to buy some things for my mak and abah first.

And so, after office hours I went straight ahead to the mall with only one intention - to buy their medications only.

But I couldn't explain these bags:

Terbeli?

Konflik Dalaman

Assalamualaikum and Hello

I went to the gym yesterday; straight away from Bangsar.
It was still early and not so many people around. I took my own sweet time sitting at the lounge drinking mineral water *lol* and then I saw one huge man coming out from staff room.
I said to myself – scary gila.
Then I just ignore that huge man.

After that I walked towards the elliptical machine when M, my personal trainer approached me.
+ Heyyy where have you been?
-          Nowhere, just around here, but a bit busy.
+ So when you free? We got to move to our third session.
-          Today I’m free. Tomorrow evening might be as well. But then I’ll be away for Raya.
+ Today I can’t.. I have another client. How bout next Monday at 6pm?
-          No problem at all.
+ Cool, so I’ll see you next Monday yah!
-          Ching chingg! *dalam hati je*

Then I proceed with warm up *like the chiropractor has taught me* when that huge man that I was quite afraid of approached me and-
+ Hii how are you? I’m F.
-          *blur* hii?? I’m Hanis | confuse | go away | leave me alone | botak
+ M told me about your training session blab la blab la bla
-          *processing data* | what? | M | cannot commit | pass me | this man | howcouldyou | scary | militarytypeoftraining | heavyweightlifting | oh no | serious? | M please come back | I need you | I’m dead |
+ So what’s your name again?
-          I’m Hanis.
+ Ok hold on let me get my name card. Do you have yours?
-          in my bag.
+ Ok so take this, you can call me F, and please don’t forget to text me your phone number yeah!
-          . . .
+ See you next Monday at 7!
-          No, at 6.
+ 6? Ok cool, see you at 6! :D

This is one major personal issue. I am not comfortable at all. That was why I asked for female trainer on the first place.
I mean, working out with stranger, of opposite sex really makes me – uncomfortable lah.

I don’t know what to expect.

I don’t know what to do. Should I asked for someone else? Some other female trainer?
But this thing is only temporary. Only for one hour per session.
Takut nanti nampak macam diva pulak.

Sigh. What should I do what should I do.

My First Chiropractic Treatment

Assalamualaikum and Hello :)

I went to see my hub's chiropractor at The Club Damansara. At first I was quite excited about this chiro things because I was amazed about the danna's experience everytime he met his chiro. The danna later suggests me to do some arrangement or rearrangement too, due to the pain that I felt on my left feet. I was a bit sceptical and afraid actually, because I am not used to popping any joints in my body - even to break my knuckles.

On our way to The Club, I told husband that I'm afraid and let's just cut this thing off. But he insists me to do the treatment and I redho jelahhh -.-"

Actually we both went for the treatment. So I let the danna be the first while me, sitting alone at the back, hiding behind pillows.

His chiropractor, Shawn then asked me "so after seeing all these, do you feel less nervous?"

- No, I'm afraid.

And they laughed at me -.-"

After history taking, I started with my legs. Oh well, my right leg was slightly shorter than my left. So he put me in a position and prakkk my bones.

The popping sound was terrifying but I felt no pain at all.

The he moved to the tarsals, metatarsals,  my carpals, cervical and thoracic vertebra.

But the scariest part was at the cervical. He placed his fingers at the back of my neck and twists my head slowly to the side and then:

PRAKKKK!!

The first thing that came to my head was - is my head still attached? Husband was  the happiest person in the room to heard such popping sound; as I never allowed anyone to do that to me, including him.

But it feels good. I felt warm sensation on my neck which indicate better blood flow and when he checked my legs again; they are on the same length now :'D

Overall, it was a good experience for me and I will definitely *maybe* coming back again *if I have the guts*.

Ps: Shane said my body is very flexible, and so I bugged the danna; telling him i could put my toes on my face and to this and that until he get annoyed.

Saturday!

Assalamualaikum and Hello :)

After attending the danna's cousin wedding in Puchong, I popped a question to him :

- Bila exhibition lorry tu, you?

+ Ohhh today last day, I pun lupa. Nak pergi?

- Nakkk!! :D

Yes, it might sounds a bit odd, but I love huge machines. I love engineering. Sometimes I feel like I took the wrong course during my study years lol.

But at the same time I am too lemah lembik for engineering and yeah; that explains.

So we both went to PWTC, hoping to see many huge machines and trucks but unfortunately expectation not achieved.

I was a bit sad. But it's ok, there will always be another chance for me to see good, huge, powerful engineering tools.

*positive thinking*

Have to fill in some details upon registration, and later we both got these. Name of company has been covered :)

Hair on its best behavior.

Happy weekend, everyone.

Peach, please!

Assalamualaikum and Hello :)

Recently I love orange-y or peach-y type of make up. I think those colors really suits my skin tone and give me that kind of 'fresh' looks which I adore.

Pardon my big face.

Le tools.
MAC Modern Mandarin blush, Soap & Glory A Great Kisser lip balm from Sephora, NYX Buenos Aires that I ordered online, and my super fav mascara from Marc Jacobs Lash Lifter *also bought from Sephora*

I'm in loveeeee :D

Random Surprise

Assalamualaikum and Hello

I love random (sweet) surprises.
I spend my evening at the gym on the Hari Malaysia eve. Never thought that the Danna is planning something, I guess our one-day holiday will be just hanging out in the house and play with HanChee and me cooking lunch and dinner and then watching movies.
Then I came back home at 7pm with aching body and sweaty sports bra *pardon me, gym and home is just 5 mins away so kita mandi kat rumah jelah* and said to my husband; youuu.. I laparr. Yup, mengada that way.
+ you nak makan apa?
-          I rasa macam nak sangat makan sate.
+ jom staycation nak tak?
-          Huh? Dekat mane?
+ ala.. I tengok-tengok booking.com ni.. carila mana-mana pun. You nak makan sate ke nak room service?
-          Room service!
+ ok jap I book bilik, you mandi siap-siap, I nak keluar kejap, pastu kita terus gerak.
-          *ching ching ching ching* ok!

Alangkah bestnya if I didn’t went to the gym. At very least we can check-in earlier lol.

And surprisingly, he came back home with a plastic bag full of sate daging and ayam for me. I was literally jumping and cheered because I had the best from both sides. Overindulged-me? Eh biarlah.

So that’s how we spend our cuti Hari Malaysia – staycation, just the two of us J

Food Diary

Assalamualaikum and Hello :)

Eat clean!

I really concern about everything that I am about to munch. Trying so hard to not to exceed 1200cal everyday and drink plenty of water to keep myself hydrated, I guess I can see a little bit of improvement right now :D

Way to go, Hanis!

Eh, wrong channel lah!

Ok bye 😂

Endurance Test Day 2

Assalamualaikum and Hello :)

Yesterday was my second session with le trainer, M.

To be honest, I felt better compared to my first session; where I did more reps and longer planks.
Ok la tu.

And as usual, my whole body aches, but not as intense as my first session.
It is tolerable.

After I finished my session with M, I continued to run and row some more just because I felt like I haven't done yet.
Maybe this explains the euphoric thing that I said before?

And while running on the treadmill with le trainer, she asked me if I am a local or not.
Lol?

- I looked at your name and it is like a mix of races or something.

+ Yah, I am all mixed up, literally. <gelak hambar>

- So, what are you? I mean, are you a Malaysian or something else?

+ Giggles. Of course I am. But my family background is quite complicated just to let you know.

- So you are a Malay and mix with?

+ My mom's a Malay; specifically a mix of Kelantanese and Johorian. My dad's a mix of Malay and Chinese and a bit of Indonesian, and Tang is the surname lah.
There's a lot more but I really have to refer to my granny first; because I have no idea.
Honestly.

- No wonder.. You didn't have that typical Malay looks you know.

+ Well, blessed or either way round by the genetic factor I guess. People always mistaken me for Chinese and Sarawakian or Sabahans; but the thing is, I was born and raise there- in Sarawak.

- Now that explains. 😂

Later she pushes me to row some more.

Just discovered this app.
Cute kitten faces came with $1.99 tag.

Tiger face available for free.

Hazy Be Gone

Assalamualaikum and Hello :)

This hazy weather has been going on since weeks ago. The worst haze that I have been through was during I was in Sarawak; where people from the health ministry came to each houses and gave 3layer face mask and asked us to stay indoor and wear long sleeves cloths to prevent from being affected by the dangerous micro-ashes.

Sitting here in the office and looking outside of the window really do catch me back to my childhood years.

Today at 11am. Normally I could see Masjid Negeri, Shah Alam from here.

Please minimize/ stop all outdoor activities - how could we even breathe in this?

And please drink plenty of water, too.

13092015

Assalamualaikum and Hello :)

I still remember, September last year marks an important event in my life. It was the day that i left my family and home; so a new place, new environment, new everything.

I didn't brought much along with me. Just a couple of bags and luggage, filled with my formal wears, a pair of good loyal  jeans of mine, and some books.

And I rented one small room, stay there with my pet and at the same time trying to adapt with the people around me.

I guess, if HanChee has the ability to speak, there would be a lot of things that he would say. :D

Of course I miss my family. Even though I used to be away from home (I attended medical school for years), but this time was different. I have no friends with me, no family, just me alone.

Adapting to new place was hard for me. In fact, I am still didn't fully adapt to my new place, right now. If it wasn't for the sake of marriage, I would definitely not going to stay here.

I always love JB :)

Endurance Test Day 1

Assalamualaikum and Hello :)

I have one girlcrush, let’s just call her M.
She is Chinese, with super fair skin, pretty long locks with romantic soft curls, looks good everyday – no matter what outfit that she wear, naturally very pretty and extremely polite and professional.

I always love to look at her whenever she’s not looking *at me* lol I think if I am M, I’ll be scared of me.

Coincidentally my personal trainer shares the same name with M.

I told my husband that my personal trainer must be very good looking and elegant too, just like M, because people with that name are all very pretty (mostly).

That was when I haven’t met my personal trainer yet. Optimistic?

And so yesterday was the day – my first session at the gym with my trainer.
I texted her that I’ll be at the lounge at 6pm but I came half an hour earlier to shower etc and did some warm up.

Around 6something I received a phone call from M (trainer) saying heyyy where you at? – Oh hye I’m here alreadyyy I’m at the adductor area where are you? – I’m at the lounge oh I guess I see you – Yah ok ok I’ll come to you.

Then I was disappointed.

I didn’t met the M that I have in my mind.

The M that I met yesterday was tan, a bit shorter than me, not-that-pretty (am I being judgmental?), she got super fit arms (not that lean ladylike arms, but more to bulky type of biceps), and she wore odd-looking contact lens with big outer rims and some weird patterns. Can’t describe much.

Sigh.

We spend few minutes knowing each other, she asked me about my goals, my current lifestyle, what motivates me and etc.
And she told me she loves to lift – well that explains.

The disappointed Hanis then proceed with the first endurance test – cycling. Go as far as you can in 10 she said.
This is easy (cakap dalam hati je). Ok.

3.4km in 10 minutes, level 3. Ok la tu for a beginner.

Next, push up! She said.

It has been ages. Agessss since I did push up. The only push up that I always do is wearing push up bra to lift my girls.
Yes, I lift too; but in a different method and objective :D

Ok push up. Do as many as you can in 1 minute.

I was quite uptight. Nak buat 5 kali pun macam sampai tak sampai je. Tapi, buat jelah.

18 push ups in 1 minute. Ok la.

Nexttt, planks!

I have no idea what is it. Then she showed me how to do planks correctly.

Nahhh, seems easy. I can do this. Ok.

So I got to my position. And I take back my words. It’s not easy at all. The pain was intense especially at the abdominis and shoulder.
She asked me to stay in the position for 1 minute.
After few seconds my body starts shaking.
Tried to escape mentally by thinking about something good but failed. Lol.

45seconds.

Quite good for a newbie. *Pat own shoulder*

And the endurance test goes on.

I couldn’t feel my legs and arms. I literally walked out of the gym like sotong – my limbs were numb.

But I love the sore. It sore so bad but I love it.

Only the fact that the M in my head was wayyyy different with the M that I met, makes me sigh.

Sigh.

Dot My

Assalamualaikum and Hello :)

Husband : Sayang, sekarang blogspot dah jadi blogspot dot my eh? You punya blog pun tukar jugak kot.

Me : Really? Tak perasan pulak.

Husband : Jap I check. *checking* Haah la dah tukar jadi dot my.

Me : Kenapa tukar? Bukan dot com lagi?

Husband : MCMC dah ada deal kot dengan diorang ni, so makin senang la kerja nak cari orang.

Me : Hoo.. Tak boleh tulis ikut suka hati?

Husband : Yup.

It is scary to think that the people are watching you.

But on the other hand, it could prevent us from sparks any sensitive issues that may hurt other people

Just, be safe :)

08092015

Assalamualaikum and Hello :)

Still building up my stamina; I was able to jog for 2km yesterday before my left feet feels painful.

When I tried to jog or brisk walk again, the pain started to get more intense. Maybe that's the limit for this time being.

And today is my rest day. Muscles are still sore, might be due to DOMS but must state here; the endorphins are running high. I'm not trying to exaggerate things, but the right terms for what I am feeling right now is - Euphoric. Lol.

Will update later. xx

Lunch?

Zero calorie with my purse at the back just because I think they looks cute ; matchy matchy.

Hanis in Between

Assalamualaikum and Hello :)

Few months ago me and the Danna decided to fly to Bandung as our end of year holiday treat. So we both planned to Jakarta first and then took the train to Bandung. Why Jakarta? Because I haven't been there for a while. Why Bandung? Because I need to shop so badly! Haha.

Yes you may say that I am now sort of counting the days. Lah.

But yesterday the danna asked me - This coming November you nak pergi Maldives tak?

I was like - Whatttt?? You betul ke ni? Maldives??? Mahal! Nak duduk mane?? =.="

Then he said - Flight sorang baru about 1.5k each, and ClubMed pun tengah ada promotion. Nak pergi tak?

Mestila I nak pergi! Haha!

Now I am confuse.

Bandung : Shopping like mad.

Maldives : The ocean! Beach! ClubMed!

Oh boy; I am so in between :/

Kickstart

Assalamualaikum and Hello :)

Yesterday was my very first gym session with my brother. Well actually I supposed to be there on Friday; after office hours, but my personal trainer was not in during that particular time. And to prevent any awkward moment(s), I decided to go back home and dragged my brother with me on the next morning.

Going to the gym with him was - super tiring! I was exausted, to be frank. With these little stamina after living life in the sedentary way for almost a year, my brother gave no chance at all and pushed me to my limits; really.

Well first of all, he is very active in this gym-ing thing, and he knew which training is suitable for me and whats not.

I swear I felt like I was floating in the air once I stepped off the threadmill. Then after few minutes of cooling down, we went to another machines like the abductor, adductor, leg curl, cycling, shoulder press and many other thing that I can't remember lol.

Basically it was like the introduction for me. He tought me on how to use all those things and how many reps should I do and which body part was involved for different machines.

I am so glad I made my first visit with him yesterday. Thank you Adik :)

Next session will be with Melisa my personal trainer.

And just for the record, I did lose few kgs couple of this months; maybe due to my hectic schedule and outstation trips. Plus, I started to gave extra attention to what I consume each day and I really calculate my calorie intake using MyFitnessPal app.

So my main target in the gym is to reach my ideal BMI (should be around 22.0)  and body weight which is 55kg (I am 1.58m) and to tone my muscles a bit more especially on my thighs and arms.

Oh another one to share here: I bought one medium support sports bra at Nike Mitsui Factory Outlet for only RM99! And few days before that I bought one high support Adidas sports bra at RM130 (Adidas Paradigm Mall); which I really love too, as they both really hold my girls comfortably whenever I run, jump, or raising my hands :)

I am so happy to go back to the gym. Will update later.

Tone, tone, tone!

Ps: My next purchase will be - waist trainer. I am so excited!

Getting Started. Again.

Assalamualaikum and Hello :)

I can't wait to ditch my high heels and put my Nike's on.

Yes, I am going back to the gym! *confetti*

I know, I have left fitness and gym stuffs since I got hitched almost a year ago; and being so self-conscious, I refuse to go to any gyms here in PJ because they don't have ladies gym.
Or I didn't find one. Brrr.

Call me perasan, yada yada but the thing is I am a bit too shy.

However, now I am all new.

It began last week, when I was having lunch with my danna. To be exact, I was having my lunch and watching people at Fitness First doing BodyCombat at the same time. But sadly, with no guilt at all.

I told my husband that I want to get involved too, it looks so fun and I got excited. Husband being husband; very encouraging - he took me to the gym to ask for packages that they offer.

And cut the story short, now I am one of their member yeayy!

Starting this week, I will go straight away to the gym after office hours.
I can't wait!
